Repair of neonatal intensive care units
The State Institution “Institute of Pediatrics,Obstetrics and Gynecology named aiter Academician O.Lukyanova of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine”is the main institute for providing medical care to seriously ill children and women in labor.
The Institute includes 16 divisions that perform not only medical work,but are the main scientific base of Ukraine in the field of maternity and childhood protection.Among these divisions,the main one is the department of neonatology,which includes the department of resuscitation and intensive care of newborns and premature babies and the department of post-intensive care, discharge and rehabilitation of newborns.
The key link in the provision of medical care to newborns with perinatal pathology and prematurely born children in the neonatal intensive care unit is not only high-quality equipment, but also the conditions of stay and the premises in which intensive therapy is carried out and children are discharged immediately after birth, in accordance with industry standards (ventilation,supply of oxygen,air,specially equipped floor).
Unfortunately,today the Institute does not have a neonatal intensive care unit that would meet all modern requirements.The administration of the Institute allocated a room for the organization of the department on the 4th floor of the obstetric hospital,700 m2,but it needs major renovation.
We ask you to contribute to the mobilization of donor funds in the amount of 400,000 euros for the organization and repair of the premises of the new neonatal intensive care unit in accordance with modern requirements.
