Antifungal Drugs for Infants
Fungal diseases in infants, which develop intensively in wartime conditions, due to the impossibility of observing hygienic standards in medical institutions and bomb shelters. In the regions where hostilities are taking place,a high level of morbidity of patients with microbial infections remains, which requires the use of a longer period of treatment with anti-fungal drugs.
This is due to the adaptive conditions of children’s stay and the impossibility of maintaining proper infection control. The statistics of the Ministry of Health are impressive -in 2023,170,870 children were born in Ukraine,of which 22,229 newborns required treatment in intensive care units,in particular, about 10 percent of newborns received antifungal therapy with the drug”Ampholip”-a lipid complex of neonatal dosage.
Taking into account all of the above, the total need for the drug in Ukraine is about 10,000 packages,in particular, the critical shortage of the drug is about 8,000 packages, the total need for medical institutions in Ukraine. Therefore,we are turning to you, dear partners, with a request to attract charitable assistance in the form of the original antifungal drug “Ampholip”lipid complex,(Suspension of solution for infusions 5mg(mg)ml(ml),Vial with one dose 2ml(ml)10mg(mg)),in the amount of 8,000 packages, which will provide an opportunity to save the lives of newborn patients in the fight against rapidly progressing fungal infections in this difficult wartime. The term of treatment of one patient lasts on average for 5-14 days.
